Houston Man Charged with Murder After Fatally Shooting 11-Year-Old During "Ding-Dong Ditch" Prank

An 11-year-old boy was fatally shot in east Houston on Saturday night while playing the "ding-dong ditch" prank with friends near Racine Street.

The boy was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital on Sunday, following the incident where he was shot while fleeing a house after ringing the doorbell.

Gonzalo Leon Jr., 42, was arrested and subsequently charged with murder on Tuesday morning in connection with the fatal shooting.

Investigators executed a search warrant at the suspect's home, seizing multiple rifles and handguns as part of the ongoing investigation.
