Shaolin Temple Abbot Under Investigation for Embezzlement and Misconduct

Shaolin Temple's abbot, Shi Yongxin, is currently under investigation by authorities following multiple serious allegations concerning his conduct and management of temple affairs.

The investigation specifically targets allegations of embezzlement, accusing Shi Yongxin of misappropriating project funds and other valuable assets belonging to the Shaolin Temple.

Further accusations against Shi Yongxin include violating strict Buddhist precepts by maintaining improper relationships with women and allegedly fathering children, undermining his spiritual role.

In response to these serious allegations and actions, the Buddhist Association of China has taken disciplinary action against Shi Yongxin, reflecting the gravity of the situation.

As a direct consequence of his alleged misconduct and actions undermining the Buddhist community's reputation, Shi Yongxin has been stripped of his ordination certificate.
